My Thoughts:

I jumped at the opportunity to try this brush kit! I'm always looking for new travel kits and when I saw that this one also included tweezers, I was excited that the iFabbo shop wasn't sold out of them before I got on the list to get one. :D

The packaging itself is nicely compact and they do a good job with it not feeling cheap and like it's going to fall apart. It wipes clean very easily making it even more travel friendly. The mirror is almost the entire length of the kit, so you can see your entire face and eyes. I've never enjoyed the small round mirrors, which never made sense to me because you can't see what you're doing! I had no trouble with this square mirror.

The tweezers are tucked right under the mirror, next to the bend; they're almost hidden away -- it's perfect. They work fine and have a plastic stopper to keep them closed. I recommend keeping this little doodad. ;)

Let's get into the brushes shall we... :)

Pro Powder Brush: This is slightly smaller than your standard large powder brush. It's a little too small for all over powder and a little too big for blush. This worked great with mineralize powder, finishing powder and highlighters.

Tapered Blush Brush: This brush's bristles are very densely packed and is more suited to be used for sculpting powders or creams. I use this brush mostly for bronzers and blending creams.

Deluxe Contour Brush: The brush head on this is huge. You need to have huge eyes for this to work into the crease. I happen to have big eyes and this was still a challenge to get to work. With my eye closed, it covers my lid, crease and almost up to my eyebrow. I use this brush on the face to work details into the skin like contouring and highlighting and to cover up blemishes. It's really nice to use to buff product into the skin. I much prefer it for this purpose! If you do want to use this on your eye, you can do the "quick and dirty smokey eye" using one color and blending it all over the eye and into the crease with this brush until the color is faded out. If you have a hooded eye, this probably won't work but give it a shot!

Chisel Shadow Brush: This works great to put eye shadow on the eye lid. It picks up the color nicely and creates a really nice smoked out look when using the tip to blur out any lines, especially liner on top or under the eye.

Detail Liner Brush: I did not like this brush. It was not incredibly precise. This brush lays down a thicker line, so if you're looking for a thin liner, don't look to this brush.

Crease Blender Brush: This brush is really solid and the star of this kit. It's a little firmer than your standard crease brush that you may be used (think MAC 224), however, it blends beautifully. Fave brush of the kit, hands down.

Overall, the brushes are quite soft, wash well and don't shed very much/hardly at all save for a hair here and there. It misses the mark on the brush head size for half of the brushes in the kit and that's where it fails for me. You probably have several flat head eye shadow brushes and blending brushes in your arsenal already so I'd say pass on this. The quality is great but there are too many better starter kits out there for the money. The balance is just really off on this one.

What's your favorite travel brush set that hits on both quality and price?

Wishing you all a beautiful day!

Perlier Imperial Honey Body Butter Review

I've got another Perlier product from the iFabbo shop to review for you today! It's the Perlier Imperial Honey Body Butter. Let's get into it...

What They Say:

  • Formulated with the honey of black bees and royal jelly
  • Nourishes skin with moisture
  • Leaves skin pleasantly scented with the sensual notes of honey and oriental woods
  • Perfect for year-round use

Made in Italy

My Thoughts:

This body butter is very slick. It’s quite wet to the touch and when you rub it in your hands, it melds together and glides across the skin nicely making this a great massage lotion if you wanted to! The only downside to the slickness/wetness is that it takes a long time to fully absorb into the skin. For me, it was around 90 minutes. That’s pretty significant. If you use it sparingly, you can get away with about 30 – 45 minutes before you'd want to fully dress. I tend to use this in the evening after a shower, so I like to use what I want and not have to be sparing with it.

It has a very faint, real honey smell so it won’t interfere with your perfume. I don't smell the oriental woods part of this at all. Overall, I think the scent is so mild that it allows you to layer whatever you want with it because it's not overpowering in it's scent. I really like that!

As you can expect with Perlier, this lotion is very hydrating and moisturizing and lasted for a full 24-hours!

This product is available for purchase at and because iFabbo is so FAB, readers of this blog can take $5.00 OFF their Perlier purchase when they use this coupon code: iFabbo5

Betty says: I love Perlier products and while this isn't my favorite body butter in their line, it still delivers on hydrating and moisturizing the skin.

What’s your favorite body butter?

Wishing you all a beautiful day!

Dr. Scholl's Active Series Inserts from Influenster - Review

I received the Dr. Scholl's Active Series Inserts from Influenster however I was unable to try these out b/c of a sports injury so I asked a friend to test these out for me. She's a runner and is part of a running group so it worked out perfectly! Here are her thoughts on the inserts:

I was able to try them out for few weeks. I did like them, but they were stronger in some areas than others. They had a pretty high arch support in them which took a little getting used to. This is higher than some of the other inserts that I use, but not an issue. The front portion of the insert was nice and added some good cushion to the ball of the foot. It made my feet feel pretty good during and after running. I had no issues with shin splints or pain in my legs. Whether that was due to the inserts or just timing, I couldn’t tell you.

Regarding the heel support: it was a little hard, but not bad. I have issues with my heels so this was a good test to see whether it would help, hurt or not make much of difference. While my heels didn’t hurt while running, it didn’t really make a difference after the run. I had about the same effects post running as I did with other inserts that I have tried. Overall, I think the inserts are pretty good. If you have chronic heel issues, they may not be the best, but they won’t hurt either.

She runs about 3-5 miles per day, outside in natural terrain, so hopefully this gives you a good gauge on how these will perform for you!

Wishing you all a beautiful day,
Betty xx
