Surprisingly, the SPF 30 worked perfectly for both me and my husband! I say 'surprisingly' because usually we wear at least an SPF 50 when we go out, especially up to the park. My husband and I are both fair and we burn easily. Anyway, this arrived just in time for us to test it out for a day at the Universal Studios Hollywood Theme Park (we're Annual Pass Holders ;) hee hee!).
To be honest, I had mixed emotions when I saw this because 1. I love Hawaiian Tropic and it's already our go to body sunscreen anytime we vacation or are spending time out doors and 2. I saw that it was a "lotion" sunscreen and wasn't hopeful because the lotion part didn't sound good (all I could think of was that it was going to be greasy and gross). So I was torn!
The lotion, I'm happy to report, is NOT greasy and gross! LOL It's quite nice - it absorbs into the skin quite nicely, pretty quickly actually; has that wonderful smell that you can expect from Hawaiian Tropic: think exotic vacation at a remote beach! The silk ribbons/moisturizer that are in this are very hydrating and lasted throughout the day. We wore this for about 10+ hours from morning to early evening while we were at the park and it lasted the entire time. We didn't burn at all. I was surprised that the SPF 30 protected us all day like that. Perhaps I need to recheck our SPF 50 and make sure it's broad spectrum like this one is. Make sure your sunscreen is broad spectrum!!
Broad Spectrum = protection against UVA and UVB rays
Bottom line on this one is that it's our new sunscreen for the family. Truly, it's a no brainer to not opt for a hydrating SPF. Der.
What do you think of a lotion SPF? Would you try it?
Have a beautiful day!
