April Products: the Good, the Bad & the Ugly

Hello Babes!

My picks and reviews of fave and failed products for April is here! Which ones made my top list?

PRODUCTS

The Good:

Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Beauty's Touch (Retail around $9.49US):  The other two were on my list last month but I finally found the third one and it's my favorite of the bunch! It gives me a subtle glow and is such a beautiful pink blush.

e.l.f. Spring Nail Collection 2012 (Retail $5.00US): These are a great deal, great quality, wear well and and just an overall great value. You can check out my full review HERE.

Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Nomad (Retail $14.00US): This nail polish makes me feel so happy! It screams Spring! There aren't a lot of dupes that I can think of and it's one of the reasons why Illamasqua polishes are my favorite.

Pure Fiji Hydrating Body Mist in Coconut Milk & Honey (Retail around $24.00US): I'm so glad I decided to try this! It hydrates the skin and gives the most subtle fresh scent that I really like. You can spray this directly onto the skin or spray into your hands first then rub into your skin. It's pricey but worth it because a little goes a long way. I use this in place of lotion when I'm feeling lazy (we ALL have those days!) and it hydrates my skin pretty well. I have also used this to freshen up in the middle of the day or evening and it's so nice. This is a new don't "needbutreallyreallywant" luxury item for me and I will definitely get it again. Haha! You can purchase this at Apothica.com HERE.

March MyGlam Bag (Retail $10US monthly subscription service): Overall the bag was a hit and I was so happy with it! You can view my full review HERE.

Bumble and Bumble Creme de Coco Masque (Retail $27.00US): My absolute favorite hair mask hands down. I ran out and decided to use up the rest of my Moroccan Oil mask. I was reminded how amazing this mask is and why I prefer it above all the other ones I have. It's gentle for my color treated hair and makes it so incredibly shiny and soft. My hair feels and looks like silk. LOVE. It's also very hydrating too!

The Bad:

Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Trio for Brown Eyes (Retail $10.99US): These were a huge disappointment. I expected dense, vibrant pigmentation in the color payoff and it was a massive fail. Also, the packaging sucks and is very deceiving -- what you see is what you get. There is no more product than what you see of the exposed tips. What happens when you use this and the point dulls down? There is no way to sharpen these! PASS.

Nars Smudge Proof Eye Shadow Base (Retail about $24.00US): This just didn't work for me. I have oily lids and maybe that's the issue for me personally but this didn't do anything great for me as a base. I still prefer my Too Faced Shadow Insurance or the Tarte Eye Shadow Primer.

The Ugly:

No 'ugly' products this month! Yay!

Check back next month and see which products made it on to the Good, the Bad or the Ugly list!

Have a beautiful day!
Betty xx

  2. Wow what a disappointment with the Nars primer, I've heard such great things about it too.
I have fairly oily lids too, so I guess this is a no go for me, thanks for saving me some pennies :)

  3. @ star - where is "over there"!?? :(

@ wendy - for the price of the nars primer, it went straight back. you can give it a go and see if you have better luck with it but that was just my experience. boo!

  4. Is it sick that the Ugggly part is usually my favourite? I love hearing about awful products for some reason....
