Hey Babes,
Welcome to the first look in my new Reflection series. This blog and my YT Channel have been such a journey for me. When I lost all of the videos on my channel last week it was horrible. What it has allowed me to do though, was take a moment to pause and look back at all of the old looks and videos I've done and see how far I've come... see my personal growth as an artist, a blogger and my YT channel. Trying to find the silver lining in not being able to get all of my videos back up, my husband Jody came up with this great series idea like starting fresh in a way. I couldn't agree more and what a brilliant idea! Thank you, baby!!
What I'll be doing with this series is going back and revisiting some of the looks and videos that I've done over the last couple of years and redoing them/revamping them. That could mean changing up a lot or a little; it'll depend from look to look. I'm so excited to see where this series goes! I'll be including a "Then" and "Now" photo so you can share in the growth with me. ;) It's pretty amazing.
The first look I'm doing was from a look called "Sugarpill Cosmetics Candy Inspired Look". Sugarpill makeup is incredible because all of the colors are quite unique and very inspiring. When I saw these colors together, they reminded me of the cotton candy and snow cones I used to get when I was a little girl growing up in Boston. (btw - i *love* snow cones SO much!) You can view the original blog post HERE. That was two years ago and boy have things changed! LOL
THEN
NOW
And just because...

Aside from the obvious lighting and camera issues, what I changed and did differently was:
I took the snow cone translation and did it literally across the lid. I swapped out Tako for a different highlight and replaced Tiara for Lumi. I also changed the blush. Instead of using a peachy blush, I used a pink one and I think it's much more flattering and cohesive with the entire look. I used primers (not sure why I didn't!?? weird!), a lipliner and a lipgloss. And the biggest difference? EVERYTHING IS BLENDED! Hahaha! My technique doesn't look or feel rushed this time around.

Thank you so much for your support. It means so much to me when you stop by and say hi! I have really enjoyed meeting you all and I cherish the friendships I have and will continue to make through the blog and my YouTube Channel. All of this is an extension of me and I truly hope you feel and see me throughout everything I do and put into this.
Maybe this series will inspire you to look back and see your own personal growth, too. Like I say in my tutorial video: "Every single day, you were better than you were the day before." Continue to keep doing what you love and being the best at what you do!
Wishing you all the most beautiful of days,
Betty xx
