Where to Buy:
  • Local drugstore
  • Maybelline website
  • Everywhere pretty much!
They describe it as:
  • Revolutionary gel formula provides a new bouncy texture.
  • Lightweight like a powder, yet melts seamlessly into skin like a cream.
  • Natural sheer wash of color that is buildable for greater color intensity.
  • Dermatologist tested, Allergy tested.
  • Non comedogenic.

Pros:
  • Fool proof application make these a dream to apply!
  • These give a light highlight to the cheekbone that looks beautiful.
  • Gorgeous colors.
Cons:
  • Not very pigmented - you're better off trying the darker shades.
  • The packaging is a little tough to open. I have to jam my nail between the plastic to get it open!
  • Wear time is short - about 4 hours if you don't set (lightly) with a powder or similar color blush on top.

Overall Opinion:
These lost points because of the packaging and because the wear time of the product on it's own is quite low. These start off very sheer, so you'll have to spend some time building up the blush so you can see it.  In fact, a heavy hand is recommended to build up the color intensity. Because these are so lightweight, when you do build up the color, it doesn't feel heavy at all.

I recommend setting these with a translucent powder or similar/complimentary blush because it'll last longer.  I got about 10 hours before I took my makeup off and it looked very fresh like when I first applied it.  I treat these like I would a cream blush -- because it's a gel-based blush, you bet your buttons that it'll migrate and disappear on oily/combo skin.

I absolutely love these blushes!  I can deal with the packing issues and building up or layering the blush - I usually wear at least two blushes anyway because I like to mix them together! It's really up to personal preference on these, however I say go on and give these a try.  Keep in mind that the lightest blushes will give you a hard time with color payoff and the darker ones will be easier to work with.

Betty Says: Watch for BOGO sales and grab a bunch of these when they're on sale!

Have you tried these blushes yet?  How do you like to apply them?
