Sephora Holiday Catalog Look and Video Tutorial

Yes it's true!!!  I'm finally back with my tutorials and the YouTube Channel is back up and running!  It's been ages but the makeup studio is finally finished in our new home.  Phew!  We still need to fix a few things with the lighting but it's not stopping me from filming so I hope you'll stay tuned.  :-D

The first video I'm coming back with is a dramatic (of course!) look from the 2010 Sephora Holiday Catalog.  It's bright pink and turquoise and just gorgeous!  This is my take on it and I swapped out a few of the products with other ones that I preferred.  I hope you enjoy!

Pink & Fuchsia Eye Look

It's been forever since I've done a look of the day!  I did this look to (literally) brighten my day.  I was in Los Angeles on my way to meet up with some clients and decided to use some new face and lip pigments from MAC..... on my eyes.  :-D

**Please NOTE: these pigments are not meant to be used on your eyes.  But like any good makeup artist, ya gotta break the rules and use products wherever and anywhere you want.  In short:  I HAD to experiment!

Admittedly, it was rough to work with these, even to make a lipstick out of the fuchsia pigment.  I didn't have fun and used every damn mixing medium I own to make these work for me!  In the end, I didn't get my fuchsia lippie but I think the look came off rockin!  These were tough to get on the eye but if you use a really sticky or tacky base (NYX jumbo eye pencils or MAC's chromaline) and work carefully and quickly with a patting motion, you can do it.  I'll stick with MUFE's Star Powder in Iridescent Fuschia in the future though. That stuff is very pigmented, goes on so smooth and has some gorgeous sparkle to it!

Here's the look and list of products:

  • MAC Fix+ Spray
  • Makeup Forever Concealer & Corrector Palette
  • Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation
