Sephora Holiday Catalog Look and Video Tutorial

Yes it's true!!!  I'm finally back with my tutorials and the YouTube Channel is back up and running!  It's been ages but the makeup studio is finally finished in our new home.  Phew!  We still need to fix a few things with the lighting but it's not stopping me from filming so I hope you'll stay tuned.  :-D

The first video I'm coming back with is a dramatic (of course!) look from the 2010 Sephora Holiday Catalog.  It's bright pink and turquoise and just gorgeous!  This is my take on it and I swapped out a few of the products with other ones that I preferred.  I hope you enjoy!

  1. I love this look. I emailed Sephora before christmas to ask them specifically why they had used MUFE Aqua Cream in Fuchsia under the eye if it wasn't eye safe, and I never got a response back. I was extremely disappointed that Sephora never responded. Regardless, I think it looks gorgeous on you :) This was my favorite look from the catalog.

  2. thanks, phyrra! good on you for emailing Sephora. it shocked me when I read the list of products used to create that look in the holiday catalog. it was irresponsible of them. people may think it's ok b/c they saw it in the catalog, ya know? and then go use it and hurt their eyes. they may not know that the MUFE Fuchsia Aqua Cream is a product meant for the lips and cheeks only. they could've just used another MUFE product like the Fuchsia Star Powder that is eye safe but when they are trying to push product or companies have paid a nice amount of money for the products to be used and featured, they will feature it however they want (even if it's unsafe). look through that holiday catalog again and you'll see the trend if you haven't already. Guerlain Météorites Powder anyone? omg it's on like every other page.

to be honest, after a couple of hours, i experienced irritation and my eyes got watery and bloodshot. i had to take it off. for me, i know my limits and still used it anyway but i haven't experienced irritation before like that however there's a first for everything!
